In Defense of the Reptile Industry

The Reptile industry in recent years has seen significant backlash from animal rights activists due to issues such as over breeding, hoarding and the treatment of reptiles like disposable collectors items.  This industry is also often the target of animal rights campaigners who fight for tighter regulations and more restrictions in an attempt to ease the ongoing issue.

While this is a very real issue still happening, there is another more niche side to the industry which actually sets a great example for exotic animal owners.

This part of the industry fosters a real focus on science, naturalistic set ups and continuous research, which so far is generally absent from industries such as Parrot and Rabbit keeping.
